TEACHER SPOTS STRANGE NOTE IN STUDENT’S LUNCH BOX, CALLS POLICE WITHOUT HESITATION
A family in California was pretty stunned when they had a knock on the door from a local Sheriff’s deputy, but they became pretty ticked off once they realized what the visit was for. According to AWM, the deputy was there because of something a child had brought to school.
A mom, known only as Christina, had taken to packing a special note for her son and sticking it in with his lunch. The boy was pretty proud of the notes, and he began reading them aloud to his classmates. Before he knew it, they wanted notes of their own, so mom started packing extra for him to distribute.
Turns out that the little notes were bible verses, and those in charge at the Desert Rose Elementary School in Palmdale weren’t too pleased once they got wind of it. That prompted a phone call home to alert Christina of a little thing known as separation of church and state, and the matter escalated to the point that the boy and his father were handing out bible verses to students across the street from the school.
The deputy stopped by to make the school’s position clear so there were no further misunderstandings, but it doesn’t sound like this family is going to be letting it go anytime soon.
