They are caused by dead cells which build up and clog the pores.

Removing milia yourself is not like “popping” a pimple. Unlike pimples, which release somewhat easily on their own, milia actually need to be excised. Excising is more risky to your skin than popping a pimple, which is why doing it the right way is even more important.

Many natural home remedies for milia can help reduce its appearance. Let’s discuss natural remedies for this common condition.

Natural Remedies to Reduce Milk Spots (Milia)

Honey

Honey is a natural antioxidant and humectant that retains moisture in your skin. It also can be combined with other ingredients to make a facial scrub to reduce milia.

Method 1: Spread raw honey on your face. Leave it on for 15 minutes. Rinse it off. Do this daily until you see the bumps disappearing.

Method 2: Honey and jojoba both have such properties which can clearly cleanse the skin and prevent from many skin problems such as milia.

Mix one tablespoon of jojoba oil with two tablespoons of raw honey and follow the same procedure. Repeat daily or three or four times a week until you see improvement.

Method 3: You can also make a facial scrub. Add 3 tablespoons of oatmeal and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar to raw honey. Gently scrub your skin for several minutes and then rinse it off. Repeat once or twice a week, until until you see improvement.

Sugar-Lemon Scrub

Mix 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, one teaspoon olive oil and juice of half a lemon and. Gently scrub your face. Leave it on to dry for 20 minutes and wash it off. Do this twice a week for a few months.

Note: Milia aren’t considered harmful. If your condition doesn’t improve within a few weeks, however, you may want to follow up with your dermatologist to make sure it is not another skin condition.
