PEOPLE HAVE PANIC ATTACKS WHEN LOOKING AT THIS FOOTAGE FROM 1938. HOW DO YOU FARE?
There’s plenty of ways to make it in this world, but certain occupations are best left to the side for the daredevils among us. As AWM explains, that’s definitely the case for skyscraper window washers, and this frightening little video drives home that point.
Remarkably, the video actually consists of footage that was captured back in 1938. It features some of the brave souls that scaled the Empire State Building in New York City – all in a day’s work. There’s some absolutely mesmerizing footage that shows you how perilous the occupation is, and to say that there’s ample risk of death every day they show up for work is an understatement.
The stunning footage shows the workers plying their trade with a mere strap holding them in place. You get a full-on picture at the dizzying heights in which they complete their duties, and it’s quite obvious this line of work is not for the faint of heart. While safety measures have improved considerably since this footage was shot, the occupation remains among the most terrifying jobs that one can sign up for.
