YouTuber MrGear has been making headlines for over a year now, and his latest video isn’t one to miss. The channel, which normally demonstrates life hacks you can do with household items, has over 3.3 million subscribers and releases videos every few days. His view count is now over 600 million thanks in part to his latest series ‘Glowing 1000 degree KNIFE VS’.

In the videos, MrGear heats up a stainless steel Sacher chef’s knife with three handheld torches, before pressing it through random items. Yesterday he released ‘KNIFE VS COCA COLA’, and sent it immediately to the top of the trending charts, where as of this writing it remains. It’s amassed over 17 million views in just two days, already putting it in his top 10.
If you’ve ever wondered what happens when you put a super-hot knife through a ping pong ball, soap or the titular coke bottle, watch this video. The ping-pong ball bursts into flames immediately, while the soap bubbles melt like cheese (he also tries cheese).
Obviously, MrGear warns viewers not to try this at home, even though he usually clutches the knife without gloves. The bright red steel often starts fires, like when it burns an entire pad of Post-it notes.

Uploaded in glorious HD, the ‘KNIFE VS’ series is sure to remind some of the series ‘Watch It Melt’ or ‘Hydraulic Press’, neither of which hit the highs MrGear has achieved in the last few days. While the Hydraulic press guys were just about the hottest thing on Reddit for a while, they’ve only garnered 177 million views in their year-long run.

With more viewership comes more pressure, likely resulting in more and more expensive things being put up against his blazing hot knife. Just like the ‘Will It Blend?’ team that started with marbles and ended with iPhones (both of which blend marvelously), we can’t wait to see what comes next for MrGear.

Suggestions: jawbreakers, marshmallows, toothpaste. Or any type of electronic device, but please, please MrGear, start wearing some protection. Make sure you check out the newest video in the series, ‘KNIFE VS LIGHTER’.
