A 13-year-old girl in Pontiac, Michigan is lucky to be safe and sound after a frightening ordeal, and she’s shared some details of an attempted abduction she was the victim of. As Fox 2 Detroit reports, the girl was simply walking along when a man attacked.

“Some man yelled at me, he was like, ‘Hey, I turned around and I started speed-walking. And then he ran behind me and pulled me back into the bushes,” the girl explained.

The teen was able to fight him off by kicking him liberally several times, and the man finally relented. The girl raced home and told her grandmother, and they would quickly contact the police to report the scary incident.

“Pretty good thinking on her part, she did the right thing. She screamed and yelled and kicked. He went down and she ran away. Thank God she did that because who knows what would’ve happened,” said Michael McCabe, Oakland County undersheriff.

The suspect remains on the loose, but the teen was able to provide police with a description of the attacker.
