The man in the red jacket, who can be seen smoking a cigarette, seems to respond with ‘come on’ hand gestures.

The other driver then gets out of his car and grabs hold of him, before hitting him through the open window.

At this point, other motorists jump in to intervene and break up the fight, including a plain clothes police officer.

The video was posted online by driver Jason Murphy, who recorded the entire incident on his dashcam.

He says the time and date on the video is incorrect, with the row taking place on Monday.

Mr Murphy said it was ‘instant karma for [the] road rage bully’.

He says the man pulled up alongside him and began ‘hurling verbal abuse’, adding that he had ‘no idea’ why.

He said: ‘He got out of his car and attacked me through my open window landing 2 punches.

‘I managed to get out of my car and land a combination of rights knocking him to the ground.

‘As I wrestled on the ground a bit and landing another right, a good samaritan and a plain clothes Garda came to assist.’
