COPS PULL THIS MAN OVER, HE COLDY IGNORES OFFICER’S REQUESTS, THEN SAYS ONE CHILLING THING
In recent years, a lot of headlines have told stories of people being shot or killed by police. While police have gotten a lot of harsh criticism over these incidents, there’s one thing many have in common: in most cases, the people involved disregarded police orders and posed a threat. One man took to social media to tell about getting stopped by police. The way he handled being pulled over made the difference between life and death.
Matt Powers was pulled over by a police officer in Pennsylvania due to an expired registration. The officer asked to see Powers’ license, registration, and insurance card.
“As I kept my hands firmly locked at 10 and 2 on the steering wheel I immediately stated…..For your safety and mine, sir, I would like to inform you that I am a legally armed citizen. I have a concealed carry permit in my wallet,” explained Powers in his post.
Matt offered to get out of the vehicle and while the officer retrieved the firearm. He even warned the cop, “Please be careful, there is a round in the chamber, the thumb safety is on, and there’s an extra magazine with it.”
By being upfront and cooperative, and having all the legal paperwork, Powers was able to avoid any misunderstandings that could lead to disaster. The officer allowed him to go with a warning to get his registration updated, and returned his legal firearm.
When people cooperate with police, it benefits everyone involved.
